Our Four Pillars Of Hormone Replacement Therapy
At FitMD, our one and only mission is to help people Live Optimized. For us, that means using the latest and most effective knowledge and tools available so that every patient has the opportunity to do the things they have to do to be effective in their lives (work, family commitments, etc.), AND that they LOVE to do…the things that make life special and unique.
While Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has boomed in popularity over the last decade due to the positive changes so many have experienced, most people still have little to no knowledge about HRT.
In the area of Hormone Replacement Therapy, there are two types of patients we at FitMD specialize in:
- Men or women suffering from the symptoms of an imbalance in the body’s hormones and need HRT to get back to optimal levels.
- Men or women who are performing at a very high level physically, mentally, and emotionally and whose goal is to maintain a level of excellence well into their extended futures.
Regardless of which category you fall into, we can design a program to meet your specific needs. By using our 4-Pillar system, we can work with your genetics and your lifestyle to Live Optimized through Hormone Replacement Therapy
1. Comprehensive Consultation
Before any treatment or therapy can be provided, it is critical that our doctor and health care team understand your unique symptoms, goals, and needs. Each patient goes through an in-depth family history and consultation process, followed by a physical examination to understand the best next steps.
Our InBody biometric scanner measures over 20 unique variables that reveal your baseline level of health, fitness, and performance. This unique scan allows us to track your progress throughout the journey on a weekly basis. This regular and ongoing measurement tool assures that your program is working and gives us the exact knowledge we need to alter your program easily and quickly if needed.
3. Complete Blood Panel
The lab work we order for our patients goes WAY beyond the basic panel doctors who do not specialize in HRT order. By seeing more in-depth and unique aspects of your blood, we can confidently prescribe you the medication regimen that will be perfect to get your hormone levels Optimized.
4. Customized Treatment Program
When it comes to HRT, there are lots of medications that can be used to help you Live Optimized. By analyzing the information learned from your first 3 Pillars, we’ll have all the information we need to create the very best, most customized plan possible for you.
To help our patients Live Optimized through Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), there are multiple hormones that are evaluated for treatment. The first to be checked are those most commonly imbalanced and that when treated, can show remarkable changes within just a few weeks to a couple of months of starting care. Here is an overview of the most common hormones we check at FitMD and what those hormones do to help your function at your best:
Estrogen is present in both males and females but in females, the levels are much more dominant as this hormone is responsible for female sexual reproductive health. There are (3) types of estrogen with one (Estrone) present only after menopause. Imbalances in estrogen can cause many symptoms that relate to sexual health, weight gain, emotional health, and skin health.
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is used in males to assist with natural testosterone production. When included as part of a testosterone replacement therapy protocol, HCG is injected (3) days following testosterone is taken by the patient. This allows testosterone levels to remain consistent throughout the week…the testosterone injections introduce external testosterone, and the HCG stimulates the body to create its own testosterone.
Gonadorelin, like HCG, is used to assist males in the natural production of testosterone. Gonadorelin is an alternative to HCG and is administered by injection.
Progesterone works in tandem with estrogen to maintain reproductive health in females. This hormone is released by the ovaries and is closely tied to a woman’s menstrual cycle and during pregnancy.
Testosterone, while present in low levels in women is the dominant sex hormone in men. This hormone has a direct impact on sexual health, muscle mass, bone mass, fat mass, and even emotional health in both men and women.
Thyroid hormones are a group of hormones produced by the thyroid gland. These hormones regulate metabolism, which is the body’s ability to break down food, convert it to energy, store vs. burn fat, and regulate temperature.
As part of a complete HRT program, one component that patients can benefit greatly from is a specific usage of a specialty protein called Peptide Therapy. Peptides are molecules that signal cells within the body to perform very specific actions. Some of these actions include things like muscle growth, the reduction of inflammation, the breakdown of visceral fat (weight loss), and anti-aging processes.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
You’ve likely heard advertisements for Men’s Low T therapy on the radio, Internet, and TV by now. Ready for a little secret? Low testosterone affects WOMEN TOO!
The fact is, women are affected by hormonal imbalance just as often as men (if not more so). At Fit MD, hormones are our specialty! Our doctors thrive in finding the perfect balance in testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and thyroid levels so that you can look and feel your very best.
Low Testosterone Therapy
Testosterone is essentially the hormone that makes a man, a man.
It’s a natural hormone which can serve as a catalyst for building muscle mass, increasing sex drive, and providing men with the energy level needed to live healthy, productive lives. After the age of 30 (sometimes as soon as age 20), most men begin to experience a gradual decrease in their testosterone levels which can cause several health problems.
The good news? Testosterone replacement therapy can help!
Most men shudder at the mere thought of the term erectile dysfunction (ED). Just two letters, when used as an abbreviation, have a significant impact on your life and those around you.
The term erectile dysfunction can be incredibly misleading. When there is an imbalance of hormone levels at the root of your ED, it’s more of a cause and effect type of situation than a dysfunction of your anatomy.

My FitMD experience has been positive all-around. I came in to help with my focus, libido and energy and I’ve noticed some good results. I love the way everyone cares so much and how they are always looking to educate me on health and wellness. I’d certainly recommend FitMD to anyone who wants to get the kind of results I got.JWColorado
I’ve had such a better experience than what I had at my general healthcare doctor who did nothing to fix my problems and didn’t develop a personal relationship to get to know me. Everyone at FitMD has made me feel welcome. They’ve answered all my questions and every time I email, they get back to me right away. While my life has improved already, I’m really looking forward to the results I’ll get over time!TMColorado
I can’t believe how long I let myself feel the way I did. I didn’t realize how good I could feel! I credit the people at FitMD with helping me live my best life. I recommend seeing them sooner than later. You only have so much time…don’t waste any more of it!BBColorado
I’m brand new to FitMD. Over the last several months I’ve noticed some weight gain that I wasn’t liking. I loved the concept of doctor-supervised weight loss and found out there’s a hormone component that I never thought of before. I’m looking forward to the results I’ll get with my treatment and if the way the FitMD treats me is any indication, I’m going to be really, really happy! Everyone here is GREAT!!DDColorado
1. Schedule Your Free Consultation
Hormone therapy begins with a consultation with the Fit MD; this initial consultation should take about a half hour. You will provide the doctor with your medical history, an overview of your lifestyle and discuss your symptoms. This information along with a quick medical exam will help the doctor determine if hormone therapy is right for you.
2. We Will Test Your Hormone Levels
If at the end of your initial consultation you decide to move forward, the doctor will take a sample of your blood to be sent to our labs to measure the estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels in your bloodstream.
3. Evaluation & Plan of Action
It’s go time! Your Fit MD clinician will review your lab results with you and let you know whether or not you are a candidate for hormone replacement therapy. If you are, he or she will provide you with your hormone therapy medication and help you establish a customized, treatment schedule. You will then begin your treatment plan and start moving toward a healthier, younger-feeling YOU!
