ABOUT
Blood Testing

Annual blood testing is one of the most important steps adults can take to prevent life-threatening disease. With blood test results, you can detect critical changes in your body before they manifest as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, liver and kidney problems, or worse. It can also spot problems related to nutrition, such as electrolyte, vitamin and mineral levels, as well as problems related to hormonal imbalances. Having the proper blood tests can empower you to implement a health program that could add decades of healthy life.

Blood tests have benefits that go far beyond disease prevention. By monitoring levels of sex hormones, for example, you can take steps to enhance your quality of life by easing or eliminating depression, erectile dysfunction, abdominal obesity, or by improving your memory and energy levels.

Fit MD offers a complete line of blood work testing, with lab results in 24 to 48 hours, depending on the test. Here’s how it works: Schedule your blood lab test online today or call us and speak to our medical staff to identify your health concerns. Then visit one of our Denver Area locations listed on this site for a small blood extraction. You can take the lab test results to your physician for further discussion, or talk to the Fit MD.

Our blood tests include a doctor’s order and health consultation with our experienced medical staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is our goal to make your blood testing experience as stress-free as possible, by providing conveniently located facilities and hours of operation that accommodate your busy schedule. Fit MD’s skilled staff works diligently to provide each patient with prompt and professional service in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere

What Should I Expect?

Your role is to provide a blood specimen that will be analyzed in our laboratory. You can be assured that Fit MD staff will make the collection process as safe, quick, and comfortable as possible while ensuring your dignity and privacy.

When visiting your physician, ask what test is being performed, why the test needs to be done, what you can expect the procedure to be like, when you can expect to hear about your test results, and how the test results will affect the course of your care.

What Should I Do To Prepare?

Sometimes special preparation is required to improve the accuracy of a test. This may involve fasting (not eating any or certain types of foods) for several hours or even overnight, drinking more or less water than usual, or avoiding certain medications or vitamin and/or herbal supplements before the test.
Your healthcare professional should provide you with instructions for preparing for your test. If you are not certain if special preparation is required, or if you have questions about the instructions you were given, please call us.
If you did not follow the test preparation instructions you received, let the staff  know before your blood draw is performed.

How Soon Can I Expect To Receive My Results?

Depending on the complexity of the test being performed, it could take 24 to 48 hours before your results are received from the laboratory.

More involved immunology test that determine food sensitivities and allergies can sometimes take longer.

Who Will Report My Test Results To Me?

Fit MD will email (password protected) your test results to the email you provided at the time of your collection.

Once your results are received, you may call us to schedule an appointment with one of our medical staff to interpret the lab results and discuss a treatment plan if one is needed. You are also welcome to take the test to your primary care physician, although interpretation by Fit MD is included in your blood work fee.

Can I Order My Own Tests Directly From Fit MD?

Yes, we have a medical doctor on staff that will order your test(s).

Are Appointments Required?

Appointments are not required but may help to reduce your wait time.

If withholding food and/or beverages is not required for your test, you may wish to schedule an appointment during the early morning hours.
